Ofsted
St James' CE (Aided) Primary School has not yet been inspected. It was formed from the merger of St James' Infant and St James' Junior Schools in September 2019. Officially, the junior school closed and the infant school expanded to include the older children and so the new school maintains the infant school's existing Ofsted status until the next inspection. The infant school was last inspected in March 2008 and the Ofsted report is below. As the infant school was rated outstanding at its last inspection, under a law passed in 2010 it has been exempt from routine inspections. The infant school Ofsted report is therefore more than a decade old; obviously the Ofsted framework and the school have seen very significant changes over the last 14 years. The law has now changed and "outstanding" schools are no longer exempt; with the amalgamation the school has changed even more! We therefore anticipate a full inspection in the near future.
The junior school closed in August 2019, but we have put the latest Ofsted reports on this page for your information. The most recent inspections were in 2013 and 2017.
