Golden Book
Congratulations to the following, who have all received Golden Awards this week. In Year 3: Theo, for his super effort and contributions in maths lessons: other children who gained rewards were attending Forest School and so will receive their awards next week. In Year 4: Holly H, for her gentle way with her peers, helping, supporting and inspiring them: Amelie P, for her fantastic progress in learning her times tables and Angelina, for an excellent poem about the sea. In Year 5: Romaisa, for her excellent diagrams and explanation to show how her burglar alarm worked: all Chaffinch Class, for their amazing class assembly – well done! also in Year 5, Finn, for being an optimistic learner in all subjects. In Year 6: Emily Y, for pushing herself harder to achieve more in each lesson and for beautiful presentation: Nina, for always being a conscientious learner and good talk partner and Rachel, for being a super hard worker all the time, working well with all her talk partners, being supportive and helpful.

Shell Award
This week’s winners of the Shell Award, are Fox Class. They will receive some additional free-time at the end of the week and all Year 3 will be able to go on the bank at break and lunch-time on Friday – weather permitting.

Accelerated Reader Challenge
Congratulations to Wilf, in Kestrel Class, Year 6, who has read the most words, 781,888: Stanley, in Deer Class, Year 3, has achieved the most quizzes with 100% and Swift Class, Year 5, have read the most words as a class – 2,374,711.

Times Tables Rock Stars Challenge
A new challenge across KS2, with a display on the top corridor, with two challenges for all pupils to take part in. Speed at answering questions, an average across the class – Osprey Class. The class with the highest average number of points per pupil was also Dormouse Class.

Cross Country at Mascalls
On Wednesday 13th November the cross-country runners took part in a race at Mascalls School. The first race was Year 3/4 girls: Evie finished 19th, Ashley 26th and Roisin was 20th. The second race was the Year 3/4 boys; Daniel finished in 2nd place, Eddie, 24th, Daniel 31st and Armin 29th. The nest race was for the Year 5/6 girls: Isla was 7th, Nancy 8th, Darcy 23rd and Ella 39th. The final race was the Year 5/6 boys; Nathan was 26th, William 30th, Timon 35th and Sam 46th. Thank you to Mr Hodges and Mr Wyke for coaching us and all the parents who supported us, we all had a great time. Mr Wyke reported all the team had done really well over a tricky, very muddy, course with a large hill. Daniel, in Year 3, did exceptionally well and received a silver medal for finishing in second place.

Music – Royal Schools of Music
Congratulations to Marina, in Year 4, who has passed her singing ‘Prep Test’. She received some lovely and very positive comments and will now work towards her grades.

Judo
Congratulations to Skye, in Year 3, who competed in her first judo competition at Holmwood House; she did really well and gained a silver medal.
